These terms cover scuttlebutt.co and everything on it: the home page, the research platform (Investors, Fund letters, Experts, Books and Papers, and every book, person and company page) and the sign-up forms. The Golden Age runs the site. By using it you accept these terms.
What the site is
Scuttlebutt is a research reference. It lists books, fund letters, research papers, articles, interviews and profiles by and about investors, founders and executives, and links each one to where it is published. It does not hold copies of those works: a link opens the publisher’s own page.
Not investment advice
Nothing on the site is investment, legal, tax or financial advice, or an offer to buy or sell any security. Descriptions, summaries, theses and tags are our reading of public sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Check the original source before you rely on anything, and take advice from a qualified adviser before you invest.
Accuracy
We record a source for every link, quote and recommendation and mark what we could not confirm, but we do not guarantee that any page is complete, current or free of errors. If you find a mistake, tell us with the Feedback button on the research platform and we will correct it.
Third-party content and links
Books, letters, papers, articles, podcasts, videos, logos and photographs belong to their authors, publishers and owners. Linking to them does not mean we endorse them or that their owners endorse us. Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Our content
The selection and arrangement of the reference, and the descriptions, notes and summaries we write, are ours. You may read, search and link to any page and quote short passages with a link back. You may not copy the reference in bulk, republish it, or use it to build a competing database.
Use of the site
- Do not scrape, crawl or download the site at a rate that slows it for others, or get round any limit we set.
- Do not send spam, malicious code or false reports through the feedback or sign-up forms.
- Do not try to reach systems or data that are not offered to you.
The newsletter
The daily newsletter is published on Substack. Signing up through the form on the home page subscribes you on Substack, under Substack’s terms and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from any issue.
No warranty; limits on liability
The site is offered as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the site, relying on its content or being unable to use it.
Changes
We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top shows the last change; using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
